Our Crops
We take pride in producing high-quality grain and fiber products. We are dedicated to 100% row crop production, including corn, cotton, soybeans, and wheat. We believe that promoting agricultural education in our community is crucial, as it helps people understand the origins of their food and fiber. Renfroe Farms takes pride in the diversity of our essential row crop production each year.
Corn
We grow corn with great care and dedication, specializing in white corn. White corn is known for its sweet flavor and versatility in various dishes. As with most things in life, a successful corn crop results from consistent and careful planning, along with some patience and prayer. Seeing the fields of corn stand tall is one of the many rewards in this planting and harvesting process. Additionally, white corn is an essential part of our crop rotation, contributing to soil health and sustainability.
Cotton
One of the most captivating aspects of cotton farming is the sight of our fields during harvest time. As the cotton plants mature, the fields transform into a sea of white, creating a stunning visual spectacle. The fluffy white cotton bolls against the backdrop of the green fields are a sight to behold, symbolizing the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. Cotton is not only a vital crop for our farm but also a key ingredient in many products we use daily.
Soybeans
The soybean plant, with its dense green foliage and delicate purple or white flowers, creates a stunning vision in the fields. Soybeans can be considered an easier crop to grow. However, this doesn’t diminish the importance of this crop or the hard work that goes into its planting, growing, and harvesting. As the plants mature, the golden hue of the drying pods adds to the beauty of the landscape. Beyond the aesthetic appeal, soybeans are incredibly versatile, serving as a key ingredient in animal feed, food products, and industrial applications.
Wheat
While a wheat crop can be a little less demanding than other crops, it still requires many months of attention, ideal weather conditions (which can sometimes be tricky in West Tennessee), and the perfect timing of the harvest. This critical crop can be used for various consumer and animal food products and has many industrial uses as well. From the lush green waves of wheat during the early stages of growth to the golden waves of mature wheat, this picturesque scene of our fields is a testament to the beauty and harmony of nature.
